Finneas O'Connell and Billie Eilish attend the 2020 Vanity Fair Oscar Party hosted by Radhika Jones at Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts on Feb. 9, 2020 in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Yes, someone really did claim that Finneas and Billie Eilish are successful because of their parents' "connections" in the industry. Their parents, Maggie Baird and Patrick O'Connell, have worked in the acting and film spheres throughout their lives, but the 22-year-old singer, songwriter and producer took to Twitter to set the record straight.

Finneas responded to the troll's since-deleted tweet on Monday (Feb. 24), by noting that "During my life time, our parents were never able to fully financially support us off of their work as actors. Our dad worked 12 hour days 7 days a week as a construction worker for Mattel and our mom was a teacher. Our parents gave us love but knew no one in the record industry."

"I paid off their mortgage last year and billie pays them each salaries to tour with us full time though they have told us many times they would work for us for free," he continued, before adding "Anyone who saw us tour in 2019 knows our dad insists on sweeping the stage each night before we perform."

Finneas and Eilish have been continuing to prove the haters wrong with their recent of many successes, sweeping the 2020 Grammys and performing the in memoriam tribute at the Academy Awards
