Dallas alt-pop musician Clover The Girl has released her newest video for "Don't Get It" from her 2019 EP Even if It Hurts via InVogue Records.

Inspired by high-school sitcoms of the 2000s like Malcom in the Middle, the kitchy video -- from director and editor Jenni Johnson -- is set in a home economics classroom and plays with the themes and tensions of being smothered in a small town and ultimately breaking out of the constraints of how "woman should act."

The song "Don't Get It" is a fun and catchy power-pop track, fitting somewhere between La Roux and Paramore, with a touch of Avril Lavigne aesthetic and hook-verse-chorus feels.

Clover The Girl is the newest project from Brianna Conrado, a small town singer-songwriter who briefly studied at Texas A&M University before dropping out at age 17 to pursue a career in music. Now living in L.A., Conrado has been building a modest but impressive following online with tracks like the breakout "Even if Hurts," a high production piece that feels a little more conceptual and layered.

If you're into mid-2000s high school nostalgia (and who isn't, right?) and smashing cultural obsessions with toxic romanticism, you'll probably dig her honest and gritty musical style.
