Ellen DeGeneres is focusing her philanthropic nature on the fires devastating Australia.

She announced on her talk show that she launched a GoFundMe campaign with a $5 million goal to help the people, animals and more who have been affected by the catastrophe. The donations will go to the Australian Red Cross and WIRES, Australia’s largest wildlife rescue group.

“I love Australia. I love Australia so much, I even married an Australian,” she said, mentioning her wife Portia de Rossi. “Right now, Australia needs our help."

“It’s unbelievable. Nearly a third of their habitat has been destroyed,” she continued. “It will take years for Australia to rebuild and they need our help.”

At the time of publication, the GoFundMe page has more than $1 million in donations.
