Bruce Springsteen and Clarence Clemons performs with The East Street Band circa 1975 in Los Angeles.

Longtime Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band saxophonist Clarence Clemons died in 2011 of complications from a stoke. A year prior, the musician performed with Springsteen for the last time in Asbury Park.

The intimate performance was played in front of about 60 fans in the Asbury Park Carousel House, where Springsteen delivered a special live concert of songs from Darkness on the Edge of Town box set The Promise. The last song in the set was fittingly melancholy holiday song, "Blue Christmas."

While “Blue Christmas” was the last time Clemons played with Springsteen, it wasn't his last performance altogether. In May 2011, two months before his death, he played “Edge of Glory” with Lady Gaga during the American Idol finale.

Watch the "Blue Christmas" performance from Dec. 7, 2010, below.
