The United States House of Representatives voted 405-to-11 on Tuesday (Oct. 29) to officially recognize the Armenian genocide, marking the first time a chamber of Congress has acknowledged the 1915 killings of 1.5 million Armenians by the Ottoman Empire as a genocide.

Kim Kardashian West, who is proudly of Armenian descent, took to social media to praise the government for its action alongside a photo of herself and her four children in Armenia earlier this month. "Yesterday was such a huge victory for the Armenian people when the US House Of Representatives acknowledged the Armenian Genocide," she wrote.

See the photo below. Kardashian and her children were baptized at Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin cathedral in Vagharshapat, Armenia.
