Entering the 43rd week of 2019 (dated Oct. 26), “Truth Hurts” by Lizzo reigns for a seventh week on the Billboard Hot 100 -- and it’s only the 11th song to top the chart this year.

A wave of chart-topping artists have secured their career-first leaders, from Ariana Grande’s back-to-back No. 1 songs “thank u, next” (which first hit No. 1 in 2018) and “7 rings” to Halsey’s first solo hit “Without Me” to Travis Scott’s highest-leading solo track “HIGHEST IN THE ROOM.”

Four singles resulted from historic and veteran tag-team efforts: Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s “Shallow” from their film A Star Is Born hit No. 1 following their electric Oscars duet on the March 9-dated chart. The second duet to hit the top spot this year was “Señorita” from Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello, which was No. 1 at the end of August. (Each song also marked the first time Mendes and Cooper scored a No. 1 song.)

The Jonas Brothers' comeback this year marked a historic return on the Hot 100, as “Sucker” locked in the No. 1 spot (chart dated March 16) for their first-ever chart-topper. And don’t forget the 19 weeks of 2019 when “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus didn’t budge from the top -- except when Billie Eilish’s “bad guy” knocked it down on the Aug. 24-dated chart.
