There’s often tears when Ariana Grande’s music fills the room. That was certainly the case as Elise Azkoul and Myracle Holloway sang Ari’s ‘Breathin’” during part two of the Battle Rounds.

Team Gwen’s singers gave it their all, but Holloway’s vocal power and on-stage charm gave her the edge.

“Elise, I was really impressed with your control,” Kelly Clarkson explained. “I think you’ve got a gift,” she said of the professional vocal coach.

And Myracle, a Christian and gospel specialist based in Los Angeles, “I want a record from you,” Clarkson added. “Your voice, it doesn’t sound like Mary J. Blige, it feels like Mary J. Blige.”

At that point, the tears started flowing for Holloway as she soaked up the positive feedback.

John Legend talked of the emotional impact of the performance, and urged Holloway to take more “vocal risks.” He enthused, “I love your tone. It’s just so cool.”

Gwen Stefani made the final, hard decision. She went with Myracle. Watch how it all happened below.
