Rex Orange County performs on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Oct. 10, 2019.

Rex Orange County took Thursday’s date (10/10) to a new level when he performed his latest single, the aptly titled “10/10,” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

The singer-songwriter dressed up the song, from his upcoming album Pony, due for release Oct. 25, just like he did in the music video -- in a casual living room set-up. His keyboardist, guitarist and bassist sat on either side of him, while his drummer jammed out from outside the window, spicing up the self-help track.

“I had a year that nearly sent me off the edge/ I feel like a five, I can’t pretend,” the melancholy lyrics go. But the aspirational message about getting better and reaching a full 10 status is complemented by the coordinated dancing of five mysteriously enlisted yellow Spider-Men.

“Yeah, I turned superhero/ I’m comin’ in Bruce Wayne,” Rex sang before the timely arrival of his backup dancers.
