Simon Cowell on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Sept. 17, 2019.

Hours ahead of the America's Got Talent finale, judge Simon Cowell dropped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday (Sept. 17) to test his truth-telling abilities.

The lie-detecting game DeGeneres introduced allegedly picks up on voice patterns to detemine if a statement is a truth or a lie. Cowell said he "road-tested" the game with his toddler son, Eric, and he claimed that it really works.

The host then proceeded to ask Cowell a number of juicy questions, the first of which was, "Do you think looks are more important than personality?" After some thought, Cowell said, "No" (which ended up being a lie).

Another lies Simon told was that he didn't believe he was the smartest person in the room and that he never lied about his age.
