Charlie Puth has released the mother of all tunes, along with a fun video, today (Sept. 12).

“Mother” has a summery feel. "If your mother knew all of the things that we do," Puth croons on the chorus, rejecting the "nice" and "well-mannered" labels that his unnamed love interest's mom has assigned to him.

In the accompanying video, Puth lays shirtless by a pool, then drives around with a group of friends. They eventually strip down to their undies and jump in a neighbor's pool before getting kicked out.

Puth has been busy of late. Last month, he shared "I Warned Myself," his first new release since his 2018 album Voicenotes, which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. "I Warned Myself," which was accompanied by an intense music video, was the first of three songs Puth is planning to put out. (“Mother,” presumably, will be the second of his trilogy.)

The singer and songwriter also recently jumped on board for a remix of 5 Second of Summer's "Easier," which he co-wrote.
