MacKenzie on America's Got Talent.

David Bowie is gone, but not forgotten. When MacKenzie delivered his quarterfinal performance Tuesday night (Aug. 27) on America’s Got Talent, he got us thinking about The Thin White Duke all over again.

MacKenzie, who is lead singer for Prince's former band, the New Power Generation, and auditioned on AGT some months back with the Purple One’s "Nothing Compares 2 U," covered another late legend with his take on Bowie's classic "Life On Mars," as some interstellar visuals worked their magic in the background.

A dozen acts performed at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles for the third week of quarter finals. Just seven will advance to the semifinals starting next week, with the names called out Wednesday night during the results show.
