This September, Metallica will reunite with the San Francisco Symphony for two shows. S&M2, the sequel to the group’s 1999 album and concert film S&M will take place at the Chase Center in San Francisco on September 6 and 8.
Metallica will perform tunes from the original S&M shows, as well as new songs. The conductor will be Michael Tilson Thomas, the music director at the San Francisco Symphony, as well as the artistic director for the New World Symphony. The original 1999 conductor, Michael Kamen, died in 2003 of a heart attack.
