Metallica to Screen 'S&M2' Concert Film in Theaters Across the Globe

This September, Metallica will reunite with the San Francisco Symphony for two shows. S&M2, the sequel to the group’s 1999 album and concert film S&M will take place at the Chase Center in San Francisco on September 6 and 8. 

Metallica will perform tunes from the original S&M shows, as well as new songs. The conductor will be Michael Tilson Thomas, the music director at the San Francisco Symphony, as well as the artistic director for the New World Symphony. The original 1999 conductor, Michael Kamen, died in 2003 of a heart attack.   

Fans who can’t make the shows in person will be able to hit up one of 3,000 movie theaters around the world to watch the concert film, according to the Rolling StoneThe catch, however, is that the film will be screened for one night only, Oct. 9.
