Less than a month after Disney Channel star Cameron Boyce died at 20 years old on July 6 after suffering a seizure in his sleep, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner confirmed his cause of death.

“The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner determined the cause of death for actor Cameron Boyce was sudden unexpected death in epilepsy,” the coroner said in a statement on Tuesday (July 30), according to People.

“On July 8, an autopsy was performed, and the cause and manner of death were deferred,” the statement continued. “After additional testing, the cause of death was determined to be sudden unexpected death in epilepsy.”

His “manner of death was certified as natural,” the coroner concluded.

Boyce's family recently announced the creation of the Cameron Boyce Foundation in the late actor's honor, aiming to provide "young people artistic and creative outlets as alternatives to violence and negativity and [using] resources and philanthropy to positive change in the world."
