After Taylor Swift's scathing response to the Big Machine-Ithaca Holdings deal, Sky Ferreira took to her Instagram story on Sunday night to re-gram Taylor's statement and share her own experiences with toxicity in the music industry.

"I signed contracts when I was 15 & I'm still paying the consequences for it," said Ferreira, who is now 26. "Every contract I have ever signed has always been set up to take advantage of me/my work in some way."

Ferreira went on to advise artists to fight for themselves and encouraged them to seek healthier work environments: "Do not let people pressure you into giving away your rights or settle for less...Holding out & finding a situation where you can thrive/have control over your life is worth so much more."

The singer unabashedly called out controlling behavior like gaslighting, which she explained is all too normal in the entertainment industry. "The entertainment industry is filled with under qualified bullies & morons with way too much power for their own good," Ferreira said.
