Tom Hanks Helps Gillian Anderson Face Her Fear of Singing With Some Help From The Beatles: Watch
Tom Hanks and Gillian Anderson surprised the crowd with a rendition of The Beatles' "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" on The Late Late Show With James Corden on Tuesday night for the show's London taping.
The performance was spurred by Anderson detailing her struggle with singing in public, which she admitted to struggling with during her run in "All About Eve" on London's West End earlier this year. Anderson performed a song written by PJ Harvey in the show and said her fear eventually subsided during the run.
Hanks, meanwhile, called himself a "horrible guitar player," saying his worst fear was accompanying his wife, actress/singer Rita Wilson, on guitar. Despite his self-deprecation, Hanks proceeded to pull out a guitar and perform one of The Beatles' most recognizable songs, with Anderson readily joining in to sing.
