NBC’s new songwriting competition series Songland is fully underway, and the Jonas Brothers will appear as the featured guest artist next week.

In a new clip shared exclusively with Billboard, the superstar trio talk working with their songwriter collaborator Ryan Tedder. "Working with Ryan is like the fifth Jonas Brother," Nick explained. "We can’t thank him enough for getting involved and helping us understand where we were going to go and how to accomplish it."

"I think the storytelling with the Jonas Brothers is different because they lived so much life now," Tedder explains, before noting that he now knows them well enough to anticipate what kind of songs they'd like.

"I think its something that moves you something that sticks with you and is infectious," Joe said of what makes a good song.

"That doesn’t mean it has to be emotional," Nick continued. "it evokes something within you that feels like it's true to who you are."

Every week on Songland, a guest musician will hear unknown songwriters pitch their original material. The guest artist will pair the songwriters with one of three mega-successful producers, Tedder, Ester Dean or Shane McAnally. The winner of each episode gets the opportunity to have their song recorded by the superstar recording artist featured.
