LANY and Julia Michaels "okay"

LANY and Julia Michaels continue their quest to recovery after heartbreak with their new music video for "okay," released on Thursday (May 23).

The dimly-lit video features the group wandering on the beach, before they head to the rolling rink. The vignette combines the summer beat with melancholy undertones, juxtaposing the sea with the night sky and the dark rink with the shiny disco ball. "I'm gonna be okay, right?/ I wish I could tell myself that at night," they croon as they dance their troubles away.

"I remember we talked for a long time and we went outside and ate a bunch of grapes in the parking lot," LANY singer Paul Klein told MTV of how the song came about. "She talked to me about some guy she had a crush on, and I was like, 'I just can't even look at girls right now' because I still loved this girl that totally wrecked me. At the end of my whole two-hour spiel, I think I said to her, 'I'm gonna be okay. Right?' And she's like, 'write that right now.'"

LANY are currently on their 100-date world tour, with Fletcher, Role Model and Sasha Sloan opening on select North American dates. See the full list of shows and purchase tickets here. Watch the "okay" music video below.
