In response to the Alabama Senate's decision to pass a near-total abortion ban, Tim Heidecker slammed anti-abortion state legislators in “To the Men.” All proceeds from the tune, available on Heidecker’s Bandcamp, will benefit the Yellow Hammer Fund, which provides funding for those seeking care at Alabama’s only three abortion clinics, including costs associated with the procedure such as travel and lodging.

“Have you seen a young girl dying/Have you seen em bleed to death/Have you seen a young girl dying/Have you seen em take their final breath," Heidecker asks politicians in the poignant lyrics. The song paints an unfortunately common practice of young women who are forced to seek dangerous methods of abortion.

Alabama's Republican-led Senate voted 25-6 to pass the bill (referred to as HB 314), passed on Tuesday night (May 15). Under the new restrictions, doctors would now face up to 99 years in prison if they perform an abortion. The only exceptions are for ectopic pregnancy.
