Britney Spears attends the 29th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles on April 12, 2018.

Britney Spears appeared in court in Los Angeles on Friday (May 10) along with both of her parents to discuss matters related to her conservatorship.

According to People, the hearing was closed off to media, and only Spears, her parents and their attorneys were present, though several "Free Britney" protesters gathered outside. The Associated Press reports that Spears was ordered to undergo an expert evaluation called a 730 evaluation, a competence exam usually issued for children in divorce cases.

Earlier in the week, Spears' mother Lynne filed a motion that would keep her informed on all matters pertaining to her daughter's conservatorship. "Britney is still adjusting to medications," a source told People. “It’s a difficult situation for her, and Lynne is in L.A. to help. Lynne wants to be more involved in Britney’s care because she is her mom. If there is something more they can do for Britney, Lynne wants to make sure Britney gets that help.”

Spears' father Jamie's conservatorship of her began in 2008 and gives him control of her affairs. He was also named a co-conservator of her estate.

The next hearing regarding the conservatorship is scheduled for Sept. 18.
