Unlike most America's Got Talent alumni, Caly Bevier has fought for more than just the judges' attention (which she handily nabbed, by the way, getting a golden buzzer from the notoriously critical Simon Cowell in 2016). The rising pop talent was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer at age 15, which she bravely faced down and bested. So for someone who's only 19, she's had more than her fair share of real life.

And perhaps that's why she brings a realist's attitude to her slinky, sultry new song "Hate U Sometimes," an irresistible testament to the fact that when you truly love someone, there's a 99 percent chance you also hate them once in a while. "I hope you know that I love you / Even if I hate you sometimes," she sings over a laidback, skittering beat, gentle guitar plucking and swirling strings.

"'Hate U Sometimes' is a song I feel like everyone can relate to," Bevier tells Billboard. "All relationships have ups and downs but coming back to the reasons you fell in love with your partner in the first place is what keeps you moving forward as a couple. So have that fight if you need to. But say 'I love you' as soon as it ends."
