Jared Leto Carries His Own Head at 2019 Met Gala

Jared Leto was the embodiment of this year's Met Gala “Camp: Notes on Fashion” theme.

The singer channeled Gucci's Fall-Winter 2018 show in Milan, during which Gucci designer and Met Gala host Alessandro Michele sent models down the runway carrying duplicates of their own heads. He wore a red Gucci gown and carried his own decapitated head down the red carpet.

“Camp: Notes on Fashion,” curated by Andrew Bolton, is a play on writer Susan Sontag’s seminal essay, “Notes on Camp.” The theme aims for guests to explore fashion's historical tones of theatricality, humor and exaggeration, complete with over-the-top designs.
