The singer allegedly kicked someone outside Las Vegas's Bound Bar early Thursday morning.

Latin pop star Arcángel has been arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery in Las Vegas, a lawyer for the singer confirmed to Billboard.

According to a report by TMZ, the singer -- real name Austin Agustin Santos -- was arrested after allegedly kicking someone during an argument outside the Bound Bar just off the Las Vegas Strip around 3:30 a.m. on Thursday (April 25), an incident that was reportedly caught on surveillance video. But Santos's lawyer tells Billboard the alleged victim was the singer's common-law wife, who he claims has denied that any physical violence occurred when their argument spilled from the bar into the adjacent hotel lobby, where Santos was handcuffed by security guards and later taken into custody by police.

The lawyer tells Billboard Santos has posted $2,000 bail and should be released from custody Thursday evening. Contrary to reports, the singer was not slated to perform at the Billboard Latin Music Awards being held in Las Vegas this evening.

Billboard was not able to reach the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department at the time of publishing.

Arcángel is one of the progenitors of the Latin trap sub-genre. His most recent studio album, ARES, was released last July.
