Brynn Cartelli returned to the Voice stage Monday night, not as a contestant but as a major label-signed recording artist with a new song to share.

As viewers tuned in for results to the Live Cross Battles, Cartelli premiered her new single “Grow Young”.

On it, she sings: "Wish I could go back, have fun/ And grow young / I don’t see the rush of growing old/ At what point in time does a heart go cold?"

The Voice Season 14 champ penned the coming-of-age ballad, which she describes as her "most vulnerable song yet." Cartelli also plays keys on "Grow Young," which dropped at midnight on digital music platforms via Elektra Records.

The Longmeadow, Massachusetts native took a massive leap in her career when, at age 15, she was crowned winner of The Voice in 2018, making her the youngest champion in the history of the TV talent quest.

“I had to admit something to myself while writing ‘Grow Young.’ It’s my most vulnerable song yet,” explains Cartelli in a statement announcing the new song. “This is a raw, imperfect version of a story I wrote for anyone wishing they could go back in time.  I decided to call it ‘version 1’ because the song itself is still a work in progress, but I wanted to share with my fans what I’ve been working on.”

Cartelli recently wrapped her first national trek in support of Kelly Clarkson's Meaning of Life tour, and she's currently working on her debut album, say reps at Elektra.
