UPDATE: Cardi B's attempt to trademark "Okurrr" was turned down by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in May. Read the full article here.

Cardi B has filed to trademark her catchphrase "okurrr."

According to online court documents obtained by Billboard, the rapper's company, Washpoppin, Inc., filed to trademark the word to use for "paper goods, namely paper cups and posters," on March 11. The following day, an additional filing was made to trademark "okurrr" for use on clothing, "namely T-shirts, sweatshirts, hooded sweatshirts, pants, shorts, jackets, footwear, headgear, namely hats and caps, blouses, bodysuits, dresses, jumpsuits, leggings, shirts, sweaters and undergarments."

On Feb. 25, a similar filing was made for "okurr" -- the same word, minus the extra "r."

The trilled phrase has become synonymous with Cardi B over the course of her career, and it was recently featured in her Super Bowl commercial for Pepsi. Watch that commercial below.
