Welcome to #TBT Mixtape, Billboard's series that showcases artists' very own throwback-themed playlists exclusive to Billboard's Spotify account. The curated set features the artists' favorite tracks from their youth and childhood.

This week's spin comes from Maddie & Tae. The country pop duo -- comprised of Madison Marlow and Taylor Dye -- feted the release of their new single "Tourist in This Town" earlier this month. Co-written by the pair alongside Barry Dean and Jimmy Robbins, the heartbreak bop is about rediscovering one's hometown after go-to local spots become "haunted" by the grief that accompanies romantic loss. The new single -- their third since inking a new deal with Mercury Nashville last year -- will feature on their forthcoming sophomore LP out later this year, which will also include previously released cuts “Die From a Broken Heart” and current radio single “Friends Don’t.”

The genre darlings, who first swept Music City with the release of their breakthrough single "Girl in a Country Song" (which crowned Billboard's Country Airplay chart back in 2015), also recently nabbed a duo of the year nomination for the upcoming 54th Academy of Country Music Awards -- their sixth career nomination to date at the ACMs.

To help usher in their new era, Maddie & Tae crafted this week's #TBT Mixtape as an ode to their teenage playlists, featuring cuts by Dixie Chicks, Matchbox 20, Amy Winehouse and more.

“All the way from being toddlers to our awkward pre-teen years, this was the soundtrack to our lives," they share. "These songs, and many more, shaped us as songwriters, singers and lovers of music. Hope y’all enjoy these tunes as much as we do.”
