Lin-Manuel Miranda surprised Hamilton fans in Detroit when he strutted out onstage after the show on Tuesday night (Mar. 19).

The playwright went live on Twitter, showing himself hiding backstage at Detroit’s Fisher Theatre during the final thank yous from the cast.

“You may have heard of this guy, Lin-Manuel Miranda. So, Lin is not here," one of the actors is heard saying, to which Miranda whispers to the camera, "Yes, I am!" He then walks out on the stage and announces, "I'm here," met by wild cheers and a standing ovation from the crowd.

“Thank you for supporting live theatre," he continued telling the audience. "I love you, Detroit. I signed a fresh batch of posters for you. Thank you very much.”
