Taryn Manning is showcasing her musical talents again. Almost two years after the release of her 2017 single "GLTCHLFE," which hit No. 1 on Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart, Manning is back with the emotional track "The Light," premiering exclusively on Billboard below.

"The Light," a downtempo electro-pop tune, follows the topic of overcoming internal battles. “I wrote 'The Light' during a tough time in my life when I felt I had nowhere to turn," Manning tells Billboard of the song. "In life, periods of darkness will always be inevitable, but we are always given a choice -- either stay in the light or surrender to the darkness. As the title suggests, I choose the light.”

While she's currently known as Tiffany "Pennsatucky" Doggett in the hit Netflix series Orange Is the New Black, Manning's music career has spanned back to 2001, when she formed the trip-hop-inspired band Boomkat with her brother Kellin.

The new single is released along with a remix EP, featuring cuts via Lodato, Metrush and Ant LaRock. Listen to “The Light” below, exclusively via Billboard, before its official release on Friday.
