James Corden to Host 2019 Tony Awards

James Corden will serve as host for the 73rd annual Tony Awards, the awards show’s producers announced on Tuesday (March 19).

This will be The Late Late Show star’s second turn as host for Broadway’s biggest night, after first taking the reins of the ceremony back in 2016.

“I’m thrilled to be returning to host the Tony Awards, the Broadway community is very dear to my heart and I’m beyond proud to be part of this incredibly special night,” said Corden in a statement.

While he’s now one of the most popular hosts on late night, Corden is also an accomplished stage veteran, having won both a Tony Award and Drama Desk Award for his role in 2012’s One Man, Two Guvnors. He also originated a role in the acclaimed 2004 play The History Boys and starred in the 2014 big-screen adaptation of Into The Woods.
