'And The Writer Is...' Season 4 to Feature Interviews With Wyclef Jean, Ben Gibbard, Teddy Geiger & More
The new season debuts on April 1 with Grammy-winning songwriter Jon Bellion.
Songwriter Ross Golan will launch the fourth season of the popular behind-the-music podcast And the Writer Is... on April 1, including interviews with Wyclef Jean, Death Cab for Cutie's Ben Gibbard, Teddy Geiger and more.
The announcement was made Monday (March 4) during a special podcast episode featuring Los Angeles-based songwriter Jake Davis, winner of the podcast's first-ever songwriter competition.
Grammy-winning songwriter Jon Bellion will join Golan for the season's first episode, discussing his career as a solo artist and writer for Eminem, Rihanna, Jason Derulo and others. Future guests will include Kip Moore, X Ambassadors' Sam Harris, Skylar Grey, Priscilla Renea and others.
Golan and his And The Writer Is... co-producer, Grammy-nominated songwriter Joe London, also revealed plans to host a live-recorded episode of the podcast with Wyclef Jean during South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas. The interview will be held March 14 at 12:30 p.m. at the JW Marriott's Brazos Room and aired later in the season.
While at SXSW, Golan will also lead a session on the topic of "Song Math" on March 15 and acoustically perform his concept album The Wrong Man, which is due out on Interscope later this year. That performance will take place at the Central Presbyterian Church in Austin on March 13.
"I'm honored to sit down with a new lineup of some of the best songwriters in the world," said Golan in a statement. "These people are artistic geniuses, ambitious entrepreneurs and most importantly, the life blood of the music industry."
And the Writer Is... is a joint venture between Big Deal Music Group, Mega House Music, Golan and London and claims more than 1.6 million downloads. See the full list of season 4 guests below.
