Saturday night's (Feb. 16) shows at New World Stages in New York City were evacuated and have been canceled due to multiple manhole fires on the theater's West 50th Street block. Everyone who was at the theater is safe, a representative for New World Stages confirms to Billboard.
"All patrons, casts, crews and staff were evacuated as a precaution and performances were then cancelled. Thankfully, no one was hurt," the rep writes.
At 8:52 p.m. local time, the FDNY's official alert system on Twitter wrote, "MAN 7-5 311 W 50 ST, MULTIPLE MANHOLE FIRES."
