Avril Lavigne fans, the drought is over. The Canadian pop star returns with Head Above Water, her first new album in more than five years.
Dropping at midnight across digital music services, Head Above Water features the previously released songs “Tell Me It’s Over”; the title track, which documents her years-long battle with Lyme disease; and “Dumb Blonde,” her collaboration with Nicki Minaj.
It’s the followup to Avril’s self-titled 2013 set, which peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200. “I feel like I’ve really opened up on this record more than I ever have before,” Lavigne says of her new LP. “Each song tells a story that will hopefully inspire others to believe in themselves and stand up for what they know is right and what they truly deserve.”
