Lady Gaga Supports Cardi B's Grammy Win: 'Lift Her Up & Honor Her'

Lady Gaga is supporting her fellow female artist, Cardi B, following some backlash over her rap album of the year Grammy win.

"It is so hard to be a woman in this industry," Gaga wrote alongside a photo of the two on Twitter Tuesday (Feb. 12). "What it takes, how hard we work through the disrespectful challenges, just to make art. I love you Cardi. You deserve your awards. Let’s celebrate her fight. Lift her up & honor her. She is brave."

Cardi deactivated her Instagram a day prior, following hate from critics that aimed at Offset joining her onstage and those who felt as though the rapper's debut album, Invasion of Privacy didn't deserve the award. "I work hard for my f---ing album," she said in a since deleted video that was captured by the Music News Facts Twitter account. "I remember last year when I didn't win for 'Bodak Yellow' and everybody was like, 'Cardi got snubbed.' Now this year's a f---ing problem?"
