Normani has teased the music video for her new song "Waves," which will appear on her forthcoming debut solo album.

The former Fifth Harmony member took to social media Saturday (Feb. 9) to stir up excitement for the video. "2.12," she captioned a teaser clip on Instagram, indicating the video's Feb. 12 release date.

The brief clip shows a close-up of Normani holding her hands to her face behind a starry backdrop, and then opening them to reveal an image of herself falling sideways into oblivion from what looks to be a diving board. Watch below.

"Waves," a collaboration with Atlanta crooner 6LACK, was originally released last November.

Normani, who recently graced the cover of Billboard, shared the story behind “Waves,” explaining what her favorite lyric from the song is. She said it took quite some time until she considered her work on the song to be complete.

“It was one of the first records that I recorded,” the singer told Billboard. “My favorite part as an artist is just seeing how many different phases a record can go through before actually being done.”

She expects her debut solo album to drop at the beginning of 2019.
