Future Releases Highly Anticipated 'The Wizrd' Album: Listen Here

Future has been seemingly everywhere in recent weeks talking about his seventh studio album ahead of its Jan. 18 release date, but The Wizrd is finally here. And the music can now speak for itself.

The Wizrd consists of a whopping 20 tracks and, while fans wondered if Andre 3000 might be featured due to his presence in the album’s Apple Music documentary, the only features come from Young Thug, Gunna and Travis Scott.

In that Wizrd documentary, Andre 3000 says, “Me and my son, we’re Future fanatics, man. We sit and we listen to it, and I said, ‘Man, Future makes the most negative inspirational music ever.”

In the days before the album’s release, Future did play on that negative inspiration. On Wednesday (Jan. 16), the 35-year-old rapper tweeted snippets of the first 10 songs on the track list. The video snippet for “Stick to Models” included infamous Harry Potter villain Voldemort saying, “Such a pity.”

Other fictitious evil wizards and witches were used, too, such as characters from Mickey Mouse, Lord of the Rings, Snow White and (obviously) The Wizard of Oz.

Future told The Fader that the album’s title came from his late Freebandz associate OG Double D, who would call him “The Wizard.” When asked what that meant to him at the time, the rapper told the outlet, “It just felt like, ‘Man, you got it figured out. You know what you’re supposed to do. You know what’s ahead. You know what’s right. Trust yourself. You The Wizard.”
