The Glorious Sons Rock Out Onstage in 'S.O.S. (Sawed Off Shotgun)' Music Video: Premiere

Canadian rock group The Glorious Sons are just a month away from kicking off their U.S. tour, and are hyping up fans with a new video for "S.O.S. (Sawed Off Shotgun)."

The clip, premiered exclusively on Billboard, was shot at Toronto's Scotiabank Arena on Nov. 22,  in the midst of their Canadian tour. The band is seen performing the song live with their characteristically infectious energy, cumulating in singer Brett Emmons holding up the microphone for a sea of 10,000 concertgoers to chant the last chorus.

"I think the reason this song is connecting and resonating with people is because it’s about real issues that we all face, it’s a sign of the times," Emmons said of the tune, featured on the band's Juno award-winning 2017 album, Young Beauties and Fools. "It’s time for the genre to get back to its roots, and I’m not talking about the sonics. Rock n Roll should be dangerous, it should be rebellious, and has to start making people think again.”

"S.O.S." also gave the rockers their first No. 1 on a U.S. Billboard chart, topping the Mainstream Rock Songs airplay list dated Jan. 19. The charttopper is the culmination of two years of effort between the band, BMG and BMG's partnership with Toronto-based independent Black Box Music. BMG initially signed The Glorious Sons to its publishing company, and "we were all immediately in agreement that we also had to be part of the record side as well," says Thomas Scherer, BMG EVP, repertoire and marketing. 

"In this era of fast-paced music consumption, having a song break 16 months after its release is truly inspiring," says Jason Murray, president of Black Box.

"This is a band that BMG has been very passionate about from the beginning," adds BMG VP of radio promotion, Nick Attaway. "We...found enthusiasm early on from our radio partners. As airplay began, the ovewhelming audience reaction and support from streaming outlets coupled with the band and their team's work ethic proved to be the perfect catalyst for success."
