Welcome to #TBT Mixtape, Billboard's series that showcases artists' very own throwback-themed playlists exclusive to Billboard's Spotify account. The curated set features the artists' favorite tracks from their youth and childhood.

This week's spin comes from Kaskade. The dance music icon, singer/songwriter and producer closed out 2018 with the release of a deluxe version of his Kaskade Christmas LP via Columbia Records. The set, which includes four brand-new tracks -- “Jingle Bells,” “Auld Lang Syne,” “Little Town” and “Jesu Parvule” -- also features collaborations with Late Night Alumni, Erika, Debra Fotheringham, Skylar Grey, Ilsey, Gabrielle Current, Kayrae, Jane XØ and Dia Frampton.

“Last year, I released Kaskade Christmas, and it was mainly a project for myself, hoping that a few other people out there would be feeling it. I was surprised to get the reaction I did -- producers, DJs, pop icons, my mom -- all reaching out to say that it was hitting that sweet spot for them as well," he explains. "So Kaskade Christmas has become a living breathing thing that can grow. This year I am finally releasing a song I’ve had in my Christmas library for years, and then created three more new takes on some familiar sounds. They are part of the landscape I started last year, hopefully adding some happy and heartfelt feelings to something I already love.”

To fete the new year -- and upcoming tour dates throughout the spring -- the six-time Grammy nominated artist put together this week's #TBT Mixtape to offer fans a glimpse into his childhood vinyl crates and music discovery process as a kid. The eclectic set includes cuts from Stardust, New Order, Underworld, Tori Amos and more.

"Growing up, music was the most powerful force in my life. I was inspired by the giants around me, who were molding music history right in front of my eyes," he tells Billboard. "There's something special about your first love, and mine was music. It changed my life then, and continues to change it every single day. These songs are the selfies of my day. Each one represents a snapshot of what is in my musical DNA now."
