Adam Granduciel of  The War on Drugs performs on the Outdoor stage during week 1, day 1 of the Coachella  Valley Music And Arts Festival on April 13, 2018 in Indio, Calif.

The War on Drugs teamed up with Tim Heidecker for a few songs during their hometown show in Philadelphia last night (Dec. 21).

The band first brought out Heidecker for his 2013 Yellow River Boys track "Hot Piss." The comedian then stuck around to play guitar on a cover of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' "Straight Into Darkness," on which he and the War on Drugs were joined by Hop Along's Frances Quinlan and Jelloman's Paul Vile (Kurt Vile's brother).

Earlier this year, the band earned their first Billboard No. 1 with "Pain," the second single from 2017's A Deeper Understanding. The song topped the Adult Alternative Songs chart in January.
