Back in 1973, Elton John appeared on the The Gilbert O'Sullivan Show to perform his festive favorite, "Step Into Christmas." Recently, a rare video of the sparkly performance was uncovered, just in time for Christmas.

After its original broadcast, the footage was lost in the ITV archives. The clip shows the icon decked in feathers and his trademark sunglasses alongside his classic band line up of Davey Johnstone, Dee Murray and Nigel Olsson.

In 2017, the original version of the tune was re-released as part of the Diamonds Deluxe Box Set Edition. "Step Into Christmas" is available here as a three track digital EP, which also includes "Ho! Ho! Ho! (Who'd Be A Turkey At Christmas)" and the audio version from the Gilbert O'Sullivan Show
