Bruce Springsteen takes opening night bows for his show 'Springsteen on Broadway' on Broadway at The Walter Kerr Theatre on Oct. 12, 2017 in New York City.

After reports swirled around the internet of a 2019 Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band tour, the icon set the record straight.

"Just a note to quell some of the rumors over here on E Street," he wrote on Twitter on Tuesday (Dec. 4). "While we hope to be back with you soon, the E Street Band won’t be touring in 2019."

"Before I go back to my day job, the year will be consumed with a break after our Broadway run and various recording projects I’ve been working on," he continued. "We do hope to see you soon, and until then, we have some mighty E Streeters out there regularly performing with their own projects who’d love and deserve your support."

In an interview with the Sunday Times, Springsteen said he will be going “back to my day job” after performing on Broadway since 2017, without further elaboration--which led fans to believe a tour was coming sooner than expected.
