4 Things We Want From Zayn's 'Icarus Falls' Album

It's been two years since Zayn unleashed his solo debut album, Mind of Mine. After a handful of singles and dropping hints like the characteristically mysterious artist he is, his sophomore effort, Icarus Falls, is officially arriving on Dec. 14.

The crooner kicked off the hype with "Let Me," a tribute to his girlfriend Gigi Hadid, who he was split from at the time. He followed up with the sensual "Entertainer," "Sour Diesel" and "Fingers," and sent the excitement at an all-time high by unveiling collaborations with Timbaland and Nicki Minaj.

Zayn announced his long-awaited album and its Dec. 14 release date earlier just two weeks earlier on Thursday (Nov. 29), as reported by DirectLyrics and later confirmed by Billboard

With unparalleled production quality and smooth vocals, there's no limit to the possibilities of the 27-track record. Here are five things we hope to hear from Zayn's new album.

Mythological references
With an album title like Icarus Falls, Zayn can really push his lyrical limits by comparing himself to the tragic Greek character. The crooner has been open about his battles with anxiety and the ups-and-downs he faces, so there could be some interesting parallels between his emotions and the story of Icarus, who flew too close to the sun and fell.

Another music video with Gigi Hadid
The "PILLOWTALK" music video was Zigi couple goals, and fans everywhere would surely love another onscreen show of affection between perhaps the best looking couple in history. A romantic ballad could be the perfect opportunity to showcase their love. Remind yourself of "PILLOWTALK" below.

More sexy lyrics
Zayn proved he was no longer in a teenage boy band on his debut album. With wildly explicit lyrics like, "I love her body over there/ Got me walking over there/ With them high heels on/ And your sexy ass dress…/ I think I know she don’t love me/ That's why I f*ck around," he got admirers everywhere swooning. There will surely be not shortage of lyrics like that on Icarus Falls

A rap feature
The "No Candle No Light" team-up with Minaj opens a door of possibilities. Zayn's silky voice would blend effortlessly into a rap verse by J. Cole or Chance the Rapper. And an amazing music video wouldn't hurt either.
