The event will fall on the fifth night of Hanukkah.

Grammy-nominated musician Matisyahu has announced his annual Festival of Light show for Brooklyn Steel in New York. Scheduled for Dec. 6, the fifth night of Hanukkah, the evening of acoustic music will also feature performances from Soul Rebels and special guest appearance by prolific producer and multi-instrumentalist GriZ. Other surprise guests are expected at the event.

“We are excited and honored to support Matisyahu’s Festival of Light this year! Coming together as a community to celebrate and support each other is what this time of year is about,” said New Orleans brass band Soul Rebels in a release.

Founded by the Jewish reggae rapper in 2006, the Festival of Light is a concert celebration occurring during or throughout the Hanukkah season. Previous events have seen appearances from guests such as Tim Reynolds, Blues Traveler and The Wailers.

Matisyahu will play two more shows this year in Israel on Dec 2-3, before his last performance of 2018 at the Festival of Light.

The Festival of Light concert presents a community of like-minded musicians to celebrate the season’s spirit of unity and to transcend barriers. Matisyahu, GriZ and Soul Rebels will be performing new material plus fan favorites.

Matisyahu released his latest album, Undercurrent, last year via his own imprint, Fallen Sparks Records.

Tickets are available now for the Festival of Light show via AXS.
