Vevo Continues 2019 DSCVR Artists To Watch Series with Kelvyn Colt & Flohio: Exclusive
For the second day of its 2019 DSCVR Artists To Watch series, Vevo highlights the current globalist state of hip-hop with European-based rappers Kelvyn Colt and Flohio in the latest two video installments released on Tuesday (Nov. 27).
Colt, a young songwriter and rapper who was raised in Germany and later settled in London, uses the experience of his multi-cultural upbringing and long appreciation of American hip-hop artists to create a fusion of genres that captures the fluid, transitional period in modern rap. With heady lyricism and a laser-focused understanding of his purpose, Colt has been slowly building buzz across the globe, punctuated by his 2017 EP LH914, which has continued to sizzle throughout this year.
Vevo Senior Manager of Music and Talent Carl Young tells Billboard in a statement, “Kelvyn was one of the names we were most excited to get on our A.T.W. list. This rapper from Germany is destined for big things with his unique combination of music styles, his blend of trap, grime and R&B is making him a name to look out for.”

The Nigerian-born, U.K.-raised rapper Flohio shares a similar lane to Colt, with the main difference being that Flohio is the type of rapper to grab the wheel and race hell-bent down the highway. With unstoppable heat and a hit-making ear, Flohio makes herself an undisputedly unique voice in the expanding field of global hip-hop artists.
“U.K. rap is in a very exciting place right now and Flohio is one of the key stand-out artists in the scene," Young tells Billboard. "She has an energy that is absolutely unparalleled; we can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store for her.”
