Lil Xan to Make Mac Miller Tribute Album Inspired by Their Last Conversation

Lil Xan wants to keep his hero Mac Miller's memory alive. The Soundcloud rapper canceled five of his upcoming shows because he’s been recording songs for a tribute project, titled Be Safe, according to TMZ. A release date has yet to be revealed.

"Be safe" is the last thing the late rapper said to Xan when they saw each other at Mac's Hotel Cafe performance in Los Angeles. "It was so cool to just be sitting there, and I felt like we finally skipped the acquaintance and became friends," he previously told Complex's "Open Late with Peter Rosenberg." "The last thing he said was 'Be safe,' and something about that really resonated with me. That’s why my next project is called 'Be Safe.'"

Mac Miller died at 26 years old on Friday, Sept. 7 following a reported overdose.
