Billy Joel will be among the presenters at the 2018 Long Island Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Nov. 8. Other presenters include Chuck D, Ron Alexenburg (vp at Columbia Records) and Lou Simon (senior director of music programming at SiriusXM).

This year's inductee class includes Taking Back Sunday; EPMD; the co-creator of 1969's Woodstock's Music and Arts Festival, Michael Leng; the co-founder of Sire Records, Seymour Stein; and many more. All of the inductees were selected from the Long Island Music Hall of Fame's evolving list of involved people, artists, groups and entities that were born, raised, founded or have resided on Long Island for a significant portion of their career or existence.

Additionally, the Long Island Music Hall of Fame has added a "Long Island - Hired Guns Award" for exceptional sidemen who have made a career of working with, contributing to and recording with major touring artists. Billy Joel will be presenting this year's award to his longtime guitarist/musical director Tommy Byrnes.

Proceeds from the 2018 induction ceremony and red carpet fundraising gala will support a variety of Long Island-centric music education initiatives designed and administered by the Long Island Music Hall of Fame. This includes the support of its newest project, "Tour Bus," which is a mobile music education museum that will travel to school district and private schools across Long Island with full-immersive and interactive exhibits.
