... fuck Donald Trump.
Tyler Hubbard, Florida Georgia Line
... it’s my duty and responsibility as a citizen, if I want to be a part of real change. I've learned that my vote really can make a difference in who represents myself and my country.
... it’s my responsibility to stand up for human rights -- for the lives of immigrants, women, LGBTQ people, POC. For our democracy, which the current administration is trying to suppress. Because this could be our last chance to fight back against an oppressive, regressive regime. Because I have to do everything in my power, and that starts with placing my vote.
… a vote is a voice.
... we have to do whatever we can to get 45 out of the White House ... And it starts locally. This country and this world needs this crazy motherf*cker out of here.
... I have to sit around and watch our country become something that I don't always feel very proud of it, and I want to feel proud of where I am. It's really hard to sit back and watch other people make decisions for you and for your country that make you feel so sad and bad about yourself and so sorry for the people around you and things that bring out the worst in other people. I'm really grateful that now I'm finally old enough to vote for things that matter to me and have my opinion heard. I know a lot of people say that ...one vote doesn't count. But if all the millions of people who think that their vote doesn't count actually voted, then they could've made a difference. I think it's a really beautiful thing that we get the opportunity and if you don't like what you're seeing, then you can't really complain about it if you don't go out and vote for what you want, and at least try to make a change.
... (and donating, and performing at benefits, and canvassing, and phone banking) because EVERY SINGLE ISSUE WE CARE ABOUT WILL BE AFFECTED BY THE RESULTS OF THIS ELECTION. Climate change, racial justice, women’s rights, environmental issues, LGBTQ rights, animal rights, human rights, gun control, international relations, etc. will ALL be egregiously harmed if the current administration is allowed to continue to destroy our country, our world, and everything we hold dear.
... it matters. I vote because it’s an impact. It’s a new vision for us to curate what is best for us. If you don’t vote, you can’t open your mouth. You can’t say anything when you see the new victor. You’re invisible if you don’t vote.
Jim James (My Morning Jacket)
... I believe that it is possible for us to create a world of total equality, true justice, and real love."
