Why drop just one new release when you’ve got two to share? Amerie knows all about it. The R&B artist is in a giving mood this Friday, as she releases her first album in nine years, the double project 4AM Mulholland and After 4AM.
In an exclusive chat with Billboard, Amerie discussed the changes going on inside her as she made these new LPs. “Everything on the album was recorded from when I didn’t know I was pregnant to eight, nine months [along]. “Not a Love Song” and “The Wall” were around then. I was doing little sexy rolls on those tracks. [Laughs] I record, engineer and do my own vocals and rough mixes. It was really creatively freeing.”
