Taylor Swift Promotes Early Voting in Tennessee Following Political Endorsement

Taylor Swift is continuing her support for two Tennessee Democrats: former two-term governor Phil Bredesen, running for U.S. Senate, and incumbent U.S. House member Rep. Jim Cooper.

The pop star took to Instagram on Wednesday (Oct. 17) to share that early voting in Tennessee has begun, something she said "I wish I knew about when I was 18 and voting for the first time." Accompanying the message is two Polaroid photos, one of her red-white-and-blue painted toenails, and the other a smiling selfie.

She also added information about each state's early voting policies at the link in her bio. After her political endorsement and encouragement of voter registrationVote.org told Billboard that Swfit's Instagram post "significantly" drove up voter registration among 18- to 29-year-olds in a two-day period.
