A topless, singing Serena Williams reminds women to examine their breasts in a poignant new video released for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The professional tennis player left her "comfort zone" and recorded a cover of the Divinyls' hit "I Touch Myself" for the project, which she shared on Instagram Saturday afternoon (Sept. 29).

"This Breast Cancer Awareness Month I’ve recorded a version of The Divinyls global hit 'I Touch Myself' to remind women to self-check regularly," Williams wrote alongside the video. "Yes, this put me out of my comfort zone, but I wanted to do it because it’s an issue that affects all women of all colors, all around the world. Early detection is key - it saves so many lives. I just hope this helps to remind women of that."

She continued: "The music video is part of the I Touch Myself Project which was created in honor of celebrated diva, Chrissy Amphlett, who passed away from breast cancer, and who gave us her hit song to remind women to put their health first."

Amphlett, frontwoman for the Divinyls, died after a battle with breast cancer in 2013. The I Touch Myself Project launched in 2014, with the mission to spread awareness about breast health and the importance of early detection of breast cancer.

Besides filming the video, Williams is also featured modeling the Chrissy, a snakeskin print Berlei bra with the words "I Touch Myself" printed on the inside, inspired by the Divinyls singer. All profits from sales of the bra will benefit Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA). More information is available here.
