Metallica to Go Acoustic for All Within My Hands Benefit
Metallica has announced a rare acoustic performance for the first-ever All Within My Hands Foundation Helping Hands Concert and Auction on Nov. 3. The brand-new benefit and auction will celebrate the first full year of Metallica’s All Within My Hands (AWMH), a 501(c)3 nonprofit foundation focused on creating sustainable communities by tackling the issues of hunger and workforce education and encouraging volunteerism.
In addition to Metallica’s intimate performance, good friends Cage the Elephant will also play an acoustic set for the evening.
The special event will be held at the under 4,000-capacity Masonic in San Francisco and will provide a unique opportunity to learn about the organizations Metallica and AWMH have supported, to bid on one-of-a-kind auction items, and to experience a rare acoustic Metallica show.
AWMH was established in 2017 as a way for Metallica and the entire Metallica family to give back to communities around the world that have supported the band on tour. In its first six months of operation, the foundation donated more than $750,000 to local food banks around the world -- a practice the band and AWMH have continued on the North American WorldWired Tour, donating $10,000 to local food banks in every city and meeting dedicated people who focus their daily lives on helping others.
The Metallica family and the AWMH Foundation board members are committed to running an organization where expenses are kept to a minimum and are paid for entirely by the band, the board, and friends who have worked with the band over many years and are excited to help in this mission. As such, 100% of all donations from fans and third parties go to the organizations AWMH supports.
Tickets in the balcony and a limited number of floor seats will be available via Ticketmaster Friday (Sept. 21) at 10 am PT. Fans can also donate a minimum of $10 to AWMH and be entered to win a prize package of two seats on the floor in the center of the third row, two passes to pre-show reception with food and beverage and two posters autographed by the members of Metallica/event T-shirt.
