Sir Paul McCartney has employed a touch of shock and awe to support the release of his new album, Egypt Station. 

On Thursday night, the Beatles great was a guest on The Tonight Show for an amusing stunt where he stunned the living daylights out of folks riding the 30 Rockefeller Center elevators.   

Using the element of surprise to maximum effect, McCartney and his host Jimmy Fallon freaked out unsuspecting super-fans, who thought they would get the standard NBC Studios tour.

McCartney’s public journey to the new release began with his now-legendary "carpool karaoke" session with James Corden. The Hall of Famer will hit the road next summer for his Freshen Up U.S. Tour, which kicks off late May. Stream the new album below.
